I write about people. What motivates people, what makes them tick, what puts them down, what makes them irrational. The driving force of my stories is always linked to emotional stress; it can be caused by ambition, jealousy, greed, fear, love, hate, or good old fashion revenge. This is the fuel of passions and obsessions. The human factor.
My favorite ingredients are genetics, science, and space projects. I have ideas about the future. Many ideas. Branching ideas, that often overlap without ever connecting in any way. I try to be as realistic as possible, but we’re talking about a number of possible futures here.
THE DREAMER GENOME is my first novel and was published in November, 2012. So far, it is getting good reviews from a varied audience. The setting of the story is surprisingly close to current news headlines: scientists beginning to play intelligently with strands of DNA, private firms subcontracting from NASA, a famous billionaire committed to space technology. The book is linked to these concepts, and more. Private space stations, cryogenic sleep, and the planning of a space odyssey spanning decades.
ORBITING SINS is not out yet, but should be available in April 2013. As the sequel to The Dreamer Genome, it will conclude the characters’ journey. Again, many new concepts and a jump forward in time to a possible future.
FREE SHORT STORIES
To build a bit a awareness, I publish short stories that I give away for free. At the end of these freebies, I offer a coupon for a free download of The Dreamer Genome to anyone who reviews them and emails me about them. The offer still stands.
MINING GAMES was published in January, 2013, and is also getting good reviews. It is a warped and twisted story of corporate greed in the not so near future. We’re jumping ahead almost 200 years, and the solar system has been settled. Mankind is not traveling to other star systems, but exploiting the rich asteroids around us and building in space. As a consequence, a new workforce has emerged. A workforce born in space, on foreign planets, on low gravity moons. A workforce created by a totally unrestricted reproduction program. As Earth businessmen are about to find out, the motivations of this new workforce is slightly different from what they know.
ORIGINAL STRAND was published in November, 2012. We’re jumping way ahead in time in this one, and the Earth was wiped out by nuclear and biological war. A bunch of moon inhabitants are quietly doing their thing when they find a survivor from that violent era. What follows is a strange reacquaintance with a long forgotten past.
